WHO WE ARE

The GirlShield Project (GSP) is a high school student led organization which was founded by Aakya Manamperi in 2025. The GSP is dedicated to empowering young girls through self-defense training, martial arts, leadership development and medical education . We believe every girl deserves the tools to feel safe in her body, confident in her voice, and informed about her health and future. We equip girls with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to protect themselves, lead with purpose, and make informed decisions about their health and future.

OUR MISSION

The Girl Shield Project empowers young girls by providing accessible self defense training, martial arts, leadership skills and medical education to foster their physical confidence, emotional strength, and well-being. Through inclusive programs, workshops, and community partnerships, we create safe spaces where every girl can build confidence, rise with courage to protect herself, make informed decision about her health, and inspire others.

OUR VISION

A world where every girl is safe, respected, and empowered to realize her potential and shape her own future with confidence and dignity.
